Doris Jean Schultz, 89, passed away surrounded by her loving family at Liza's Place on December 24, 2024. Doris was born on January 13, 1935 in Wheeling the daughter of the late Clarence Litman and Ethel Shilling Walker.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Schultz, sister Ann Sovinsky, sister Maxine Heiser, daughter Diane Basil, grandson Chaz Schultz, and lifelong friend Kay Roxby.
Doris leaves behind her brother James (Carol) Litman and sister Betty Greer; children Charles L. (Janet) Schultz, Carol (Ray) Schwanenberger, and Cathy (Rick) Spinetti; grandchildren Heidi Ashton, Heather Blakely, Adrienne Basil, Kiley Schultz, Carisa Schwaneneberger, Lauren Rolf, Christopher Schwanenberger, and Kaitlyn Wine; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Doris loved her family unconditionally and was quick to help anyone in need. She was devoted to her church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister for the Cathedral of St. Joseph. In her younger years, she was known for her political involvement and she spent many years working with her husband at Duvall Radio & TV.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 29, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Committal Service directly following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
