DOROTHY WARD
Dorothy Elizabeth (Freese) Ward, 95, of McMechen, WV passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Liza’s Place.
She was born on August 11, 1929 in Wheeling, WV to the late William & Elda (Teater) Freese.
Dorothy retired from housekeeping at Peterson Hospital in 1991. She was a loving and devoted mother to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ward; son, James Ward; daughter, Audrey Erickson; and sister, Betty Auten.
She is survived by her children, Gary Ward, Dorothy (Mike) Kline, Marie (Mark) Reid, and Donna Dixon; granddaughter, Chris (Jim) Wheeler; granddaughter, Shelly Thomas; grandson, Danny Grimes and 24 additional grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 17-18, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Service will be Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10am, at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311), with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
