Mary Ann Duncan, 82, of Moundsville, WV died on December 15, 2024, in Manassas, Virginia after a courageous battle with vascular dementia,
She was born in Wheeling, WV on March 23, 1942, to Michael Petros, Sr. and Ada McCave Petros and later resided with foster parents, Russell and Waneta Bell. Mary was a 1960 graduate of Moundsville High School.
In addition to her parents and foster parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Duncan. She is survived by her children, Brian Duncan (Shannon Carr) of Weirton, WV and Lori Duncan (Pratul Singh) of Vienna, VA; sisters, Ethel (Herman) Burkhart of Moundsville, WV and Reva Ann (Richard) Herron of Moundsville, WV; brother, Michael Petros of Wheeling, WV; sister-in-law Dorothy (Bernard) Young of Moundsville, WV; grandchildren, Alexander Singh and Asher Epstein; niece, Diana (James) Brokaw of Vicksburg, MS and many other beloved nieces and nephews. Her extended family includes her best friend, Margaret "Peggy" Keller of Moundsville, WV.
A family service is being planned for spring 2025. Remembrance donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America or the Marshall County Animal Shelter.
