Maxine (Wood) Landon, 86, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 26, 1938 in Washington County, PA to the late Kermit & Geraldine (Woodruff) Wood.
Maxine was a 1956 graduate of Warwood High School. She was a Deacon at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, a member of National Trail Stitchers and YMCA aquacise classes. She loved reading, embroidery & knitting, and baking for her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Scragg Landon.
Maxine is survived by her four sons, Swift Landon (Margaret Lavigne) of Charleston, WV; Myles Landon (Jean) of Great Mills, MD; Ian Landon (Lisa) of Abingdon, VA; and Drew Landon (Susie) of St. Clairsville, OH; her six grandchildren, Leland (Laura), Mitchell, Garrett, Matthew (fiancee Madeline), Helene, and Haiden; her 3 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Bradley, and Russell; and her brother, Charles Donovan Wood (Joyce).
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Service will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11am, at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311), with Pastor Carl Wood officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Presbyterian Church or Laughlin Chapel.
