SALLY PELUCHETTE

Sally Ann (Edwards) Peluchette, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully at her home in her 95th year on January 6, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Born on February 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Russell “Tuss” and Ursula McKenzie Edwards. Sally graduated from Wheeling High School and was a co-founder of Liberty Distributors. She contributed to many causes, especially the Wheeling Hospital Auxiliary and the Sisters of St. Joseph. Sally was married for over 60 years to her beloved husband, Mel. Sally greeted everyone with a warm welcome and her infectious smile. Hers was a life well-lived–one of generosity, kindness, and compassion. She learned from her father the values of sportsmanship and the belief that there is good in everyone.

For many years, Sally spent her summers at the Wheeling Island pool, where she impacted the lives of hundreds of kids–welcoming and mentoring all while never letting anyone put one over on her. She was often found with a dog snuggled up beside her and was known for feeding anyone fortunate enough to sit at her kitchen table. Later in life, Sally enjoyed exploring the world with her family, traveling to Italy, Australia, Iceland, Israel, Portugal, and beyond. Above all, Sally was a devoted Catholic who revered the Blessed Mother and the Sacred Heart, and she took great pride in her large, loving family of 68 and growing.

Sally’s legacy lives on in her children: Tuss (Joy), David (Elaine), Linda Watson, Mary Dawn Blair (Paul), Paul (Nancy), Tim, Judy Kaye, Richard (Doris), Mark (Amber), and Joyce Lynn Donnellan (Paul). “Mema” was adored by her 22 grandchildren: Ashley Watson; Shawna and Marissa Blair, and Lindann (Neil) Day; Nick (Maria) and Neil Peluchette; Nathan (Lauren), Alex (Katelyn), McKenzie (Meghan), and Lee Peluchette; Natalie (Steve) Linowes and Jazzmin Peluchette; Joel (KT) and Faith Peluchette, and Shelby (Ben) Duplaga; Maxx (Aubrie) and Blake (Jackie) Peluchette; Matthew (Savannah), Ryan (Erin), Valeri, and Jack Donnellan; and Sonny Peluchette. She was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren: Lorenzo, Veronica, Evelyn, Celeste, and Liana Peluchette; Boone and Wilkes Day; Beau, Josie, and Grey Peluchette; Chase and Madden Duplaga; Chandler and Collins Peluchette; Chet and Dominic Linowes; Monroe Donnellan; and Jane Peluchette; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Peluchette; her parents, Tuss and Ursula Edwards; sisters Joyce Edwards and Judy Davidson; brothers Terry and Jerry Edwards; and son-in-law Paul Blair. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dogs, Caesar and Julie, and her not-so-beloved dog, Charlie.

Sally will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and joy she brought to all who knew her.
