VERA FECAT

Vera Kathleen Fecat, born on September 4, 1932, in Ohio County, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at the age of 92, at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place.

She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kathleen retired from Reynolds Memorial Hospital, where she dedicated many years to clerical work. Her life was filled with love for her family, and she found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children. Kathleen enjoyed baking for her family and gardening.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ in Moundsville, WV. Her spiritual dedication was an inspiration to her family and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dessie Mae Shreve Jarrell; her husband, Amiel Fecat; and her brother, Ronald R. Jarrell of Brownsville, TX. She leaves behind her daughter, Patricia (Donald) Schuler of Wheeling; her grandchildren, Jason, Kristin (Jeremy) Antill, Denver (Edith), Erin, and Lindsey Schuler; and her great-grandchildren, Kinsey Antill and Amara Whitaker.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Kathleen’s life at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 30th, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Andy Robison. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville, WV.
