ROBERT STRONG

He was born November 21, 1927 in Wheeling, son of the late William and Ethel Wheaton Strong.

Bob was a retired dispatcher and rate clerk for CCC Trucking for 32 years, a 1945 graduate from Central Catholic High School, a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Wheeling, former bowler and golfer, bowled for the Wheeling Elks and was a member of the Elm Grove Eagles and a US Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister: Margaret Barnum Smith and one brother: Paul Strong.

Survivors include his wife, of 70 years, Mary Holly Strong; three sons: Bob Strong of Wheeling, Steve (Jackie Palmer) Strong of Wheeling and Bill (Teresa) Strong of El Cerrito, CA; three daughters: Debbie (Cliff) Hess of Wheeling, Paula Lindamood-Cox of Frederick, CO and Terri (Dave) Reeves of Bethlehem; five grandchildren: Christian (Heather) Hess, Andrea Strong, Abigail, Zachary and Jacob Reeves; three great grandchildren: C.J., Evan and Jordan Hess and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling with a Vigil Service at 6:00pm.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 2244 Marshall Ave., Wheeling with Fr. Jeeson Stephan as celebrant.

Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling followed by a luncheon at St. Vincent DePaul Parish Hall.
