ANNAMARIE WILLIAMS

AnnaMarie Teresa Williams, 84, of New York, NY, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center.
She was born in Wheeling on September 7, 1940, a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Patrash) Williams. AnnaMarie was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Name – St. Gregory Catholic Church in New York City. She graduated from Wheeling College, Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. After graduation she moved to New York with several friends and began writing for Good Housekeeping Magazine and then for the Jewelry Industry Council before transitioning careers and working as the Community Planning and Development Representative for the U.S. Department of Housing and Development. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her free time with her beloved dogs, Shannon, Flanagan, Mulligan, Clancy and Reilly. AnnaMarie was truly a kind and generous person who would often volunteer for a foster care facility.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Rauch and her brother, Jack Williams.
AnnaMarie is survived by several close friends, including her lifelong friends, Joan Dabelko and Patricia Roy and niece, Julia Sheets.
Friends will be received Monday, March 17, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, with a Rosary at 7:30 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, March 18 at 10 am at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
