ANNE Di COCCO
Anne Marie (Figaretti) Di Cocco, 99, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2025, at WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on November 20, 1925. Anne touched countless lives with her unwavering devotion to family and faith.
As a dedicated homemaker, Anne lovingly supported her late husband, Ernest, and their cherished children, creating a home filled with warmth and kindness. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found immense happiness in nurturing and guiding them throughout her life.
Anne’s faith was her guiding light. For 15 years, she devotedly taught Bible School at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her steadfast belief inspired those around her, and she often shared, “My faith in God was the strongest one in my life to help me get through.”
Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rose (Montalbano) Figaretti; her beloved husband, Ernest M. Di Cocco; her son, Jack Di Cocco; her brother, Joseph Figaretti; her sister, Rose Weeks; and her great-grand son, Micah Jerrome, Anne leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory. She is survived by her children: Ernest Mark (Diana) Di Cocco, Cecilia (Curt) Jerrome, Michael Di Cocco (Gina Tortelli), Frank (Natasha) Di Cocco; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Di Cocco. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grand children.
Anne’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m and from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Father Pen as celebrant, followed by entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum in Wheeling.
