BRIAN JACOBS
Brian (Jake) Jacobs, 54, of Waynesboro, PA, entered this world as the son of Jerry and Priscilla Williams Jacobs, on Easter Sunday March 29, 1970 during one of the season’s heaviest snowfalls of the year.
Brian was joined two years later by his brother Jeff who became his first best friend, and constant companion during their adolescent, and growing up years.
Early education found him at Kruger Street, Bridge Street, and then Linsly School, where he met his second best friend Lance. Under the close watch of Head Master Reno DiOrio they managed to navigate High School with a minimum of academic or social discord. College followed, first at Dayton University, and then at WVU where he graduated to in his class, in 1995 with a BS Degree in Geology.
While at WVU he met and subsequently married the love of his life, Debbie Stum of Waynesboro, PA.
Never looking back Brian set his roots down in Waynesboro and became an active member of the community, church and divided his spare time in coaching and supporting his sons in baseball, soccer, basketball and cross country track.
In the years after graduating college, golf became his passion with many hours spent knocking the pimpled ball around, staying mostly on the fairway. Joining Brian in his love of golf, at a pre-teen age, was his first best friend, and son Connor. When he wasn’t playing golf you would find him involved in soccer and baseball with both Connor and Eric.
My remembrance of Brian can be memorialized in the following quote “A loving/caring son, father and husband. Brian passed away this morning, Tuesday March 4, just twenty four days short of his fifty-fifth birthday, after experiencing several weeks of medical episodes that led to a stroke, paralysis and subsequent removal of life support. Doctors believe that a very aggressive form of cancer was the cause of his rapid deterioration.
Condolences may be sent to his wife Debbie Jacobs at 222 Strickler Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
