CHARLES BROWN II

Charles "Butch" Fleming Brown II, 81, of Bethany, WV, died Friday, March 15, 2025 at Continuous Care Center Wheeling.

He was born August 10, 1943, in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Charles and Catherine Dunlap Brown.

Butch was a U.S. Army veteran and a supervisor at Weirton Steel Corp. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Bethany Masonic Lodge No. 69 A.F. & A.M., President of Bethany Volunteer Fire Department for many years and a member of the NRA.

He had a deep love of family and always loved gathering for holidays, birthday celebrations or just simply visiting. He had a deep passion for music; he loved listening to it and collecting it with his son. In addition to music, he loved the outdoors and nature. He had a vast knowledge of birds and loved to feed and watch them. He also loved plants, trees and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Joan Artley, Mary Jane Jackson, Barbara Chambers and John Brown.

He is survived by his son, Jason (Tracy) Brown of St. Clairsville, OH; daughter, Dyan Brown of Houston, PA; grandsons, Gage Brown of St. Clairsville, Dylan Aftanas of Washington, PA and Dakota Johnson of Houston; sister, Kathleen Godina of Bethany; former wife, Donna (Mike) Calabrese of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services.
