Jane (Ash) Friebertshauser, 97, of Wheeling, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Peterson Hospital.
She was born in Waynesburg, PA on May 10, 1927, the youngest daughter of the late Frank V. and Elta (Orndoff) Acklin.
She attended the Christ United Methodist Church and was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church for several years.
She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, a long time member and past president of the Sherrard PTA, a member for many years of the Women's Club of Wheeling and the AARP Chapter 824.
Most of her work life was in the insurance business having worked at Aetna Life Insurance Company and Blue Cross/Blue Shield, both of Wheeling, and The First National Bank of Chesapeake, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbert G. Ash; and her second husband, Fred Friebertshauser; brother, Frank Acklin Jr. (Norene); sisters, Ernestine Amos (Fred), Frances Glen, Marie Dolan (Earl); and step-grandson, Scott Stephenson.
Jane is survived by two daughters, Karen (Ralph) Miller and Shirley (Ash) Holpp; four grandchildren, David (Rhonda) Miller, Daniel (Stephanie) Miller, Christine (Stephen) Phelan, Josh Bonfili; great- granddaughter, Makenna Miller; one step-great-grandson, Matthew Reinacher; two step-daughters, Janet (Michael) Joseph and Kathie (Gerry) Stephenson; step-grandchildren, Michele Marra, Michael (Jenny) Joseph, and Karen (Hieu) Nguyen; and step-great- grandchildren, Bailey, Connor, Ashley, Shelly, Benjamin, Nathan, Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a beautiful and beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m., with Reverend Jake Steele officiating, at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling (304-242- 2311). Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery to follow.
