Joan Doris Stewart, 76, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on March 16, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, where she resided for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Doris and Howard; her soulmate, Michael Melko; her sister, Charlotte; and her brothers, Jacob, William, and Michael.
Joan was a devoted mother to Charlene, Janeen, and Lawrence (Kathryn). She was a loving sister to Jackie, Janice, Jeanie, and Jeffrey. She was also a proud and cherished grandmother to Logan, Taelisa, Aaliyah, Addyson, and Dayne.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Joan's delicious cookie creations brought joy to family and friends. She found peace in the rhythm of ocean waves and never passed up an opportunity to visit the beach. A lifelong fan of Johnny Mathis, his music was the soundtrack to many of her happiest moments. She also loved arts and crafts, always finding joy in creating something special for those she loved. Joan cherished her time spent with friends at her Bunko club, where laughter and camaraderie filled the room.
Joan's kindness, love, and sweet spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
