NANCY HINTON

Nancy J. (Grant) Hinton of Bethlehem, WV entered into eternal rest, on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at home.

She was born June 16, 1932 to Alice (Pethel) and Wilbur D. Grant in Canton, Ohio.

Nancy graduated from Wheeling High School class of 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Lee Hinton, on July 1, 1950. Together they owned and operated the Central Window Cleaning Co. from 1978 until they retired in 2013 with Nancy serving as President. The company was formerly owned by her parents.

She was a charter member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, a member of The Daughters of the Nile, Wardah Husam Temple, a lifetime member of the WV P.T.A. and was named a Distinguished West Virginian by Gov. John Rockefeller. Nancy was elected as Recorder of the Village Of Bethlehem for 4 terms and served for several terms as Councilwoman. She was an Elder and Deacon at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where she also was a member of the choir and an assistant director of the childrens choir.

Nancy enjoyed playing bridge, reading and baking at their home away from home in Welaka, FL. where she was a member of the Welaka Womens Club, the Yah Yah bridge club and attended the Welaka Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Don, on January 15, 2025; son, Donald Kent Hinton; sister, A. Jeanne Atkinson and brother, W. Daniel Grant.

Surviving are her son Jerry D. (Rhonda) Hinton of Adena, OH and her daughter, Sally Dawn (William) Sechrest of Bethlehem. Three granddaughters, Melanie Dawn (Nathan) Skrzypek, Melissa Marie Stewart, and Greta (Jason) Roe. Three great grandsons and three great grandaughters, Cooper Kelly, Cael Skrzypek, Brantley and Alexandra Stewart, Charlee and Jorja Roe.

The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding care and compassion provided by Amedisys Hospice Care.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling with Jon Hudnall officiating.

Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
