Raymond Lawrence Rice, 88, of Wheeling, WV, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
He was born September 5, 1936, son of the late Lawrence and Sally Rogers Rice.
Ray retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. in Follansbee as a laborer. He was a longtime member of the Snake Club, a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the former Island Christian Church. He loved bowling, spending time with family and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns as well as the Guardians.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Wheeler Rice; son, Lawrence Raymond Rice; and brother, Rev. James Rice.
He is survived by his children, Terrance Lee (Lori) Rice, Sally Jean (Christopher) Horn and Christine Sue (Theo Minor) Maguire; four grandsons, Scott (Melinda Reed) Maguire, Michael (Lynn) Maguire, Tyler Rice and Timothy Horn; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Ann (David) Kovalski and Charlene Seum; sister-in-law, Loretta Rice; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Monday, March 17, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM with Rev. Kenneth Hardway and Rev. Jessica Kerr officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).
Interment to follow in Parkview Memorial Gardens.
