SHIRLEY WILLIAMS- McCARDLE

Shirley Ann Seifert Williams-McCardle, 91, of Indiana, PA, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 11, 2025 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 24, 1933, in Greggsville, daughter of the late Charles William and Sarah Elizabeth Voitle Seifert. Though William Vargo was the only father she ever knew.
Shirley was a Methodist by faith, retired from the mailroom at The Health Plan and was a lifetime member of PTA and Elm Grove Eagles. She was a long-time resident of Greggsville, and spent several years at the Clara Welty Apartments in Wheeling, and the last two years at The Fountains Personal Care Home in Indiana, PA. She leaves behind many friends. She was the initiator of many and varied craft projects, and the orchestrator of many evenings of card and dice games. She loved to cook, bake, and decorate cakes. She found great joy in the care of her garden, flowers, and numerous other indoor plants. She never found a holiday that she did not have decorations, flags, or coordinated outfits for her ducks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John J. Williams; second husband, Gilbert McCardle; a son, Jeffrey Alan; grandsons, Nicholas William and Casey Waddell; sisters, Barbara Phillippi and Eleanor Jean Campbell; and half-sister, Bernetta Welling.
She is survived by two children, Debbie (Donald) Waddell of Warwood, WV and Lance (Julie) Williams of Indiana, PA; grandchildren, Seth Waddell, Isabella, Caelia, Alexander and Madelyn Williams; great-grandchildren, Izaak and Cadence Waddell and Luca Williams; and dear longtime friend, Patty Kleinder.
Friends and family will be received Friday, March 14, 2025 from 2 PM until the time of service at 5 PM with Pastor Mike Palmer officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732).
