JO ANN SZAFRAN
Jo Ann Szafran, 86, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Wheeling. Jo Ann was born on October 23, 1938, the daughter of Ralph W. Conner, Sr., and Hilda (Bowman) Conner.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband Francis S. Szafran, daughter Christine Szafran-Gellner, and brother Ralph Conner.
Left to cherish Jo Ann’s memory are her son Jeffrey A. Szafran; sister Nancy (Floyd) Venskoske; grandchildren Francis (Dawn Killen) Szafran and Johnna (Zach) Stevey; and great-grandson Daemon Szafran.
Jo Ann worked as a waitress at various restaurants and was an active member of Ebenezer Church. She loved playing bingo, talking on the telephone, spending time with family and friends, and a good cup of black coffee with a cigarette.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 7, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave, Moundsville. Procession to Ebenezer Cemetery, Jo Ann’s final resting place, will directly follow.
