PAUL CHIAZZA

Paul Francis Chiazza, 77, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 at Wheeling Hospital – WVU.

He was born in Wheeling on October 4, 1947, the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Felix) Chiazza. Paul was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and a devout member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Following his service in the Navy, Paul came back home and embarked on his successful career in the heating industry with over 40 years of service; training at Wheeling Heating before moving on to own his own company, Chiazza Heating and Cooling and later retiring from Famous Supply.

Paul was a proud pappy and would relish in the time he spend with is grandchildren. He could often be found watching his beloved Yankees, even in the years they did not meet expectations. In his spare time Paul enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing and making his own fishing lures. He was a member of the Cave Club, Snakes Club and the Wildlife League of Ohio County. Paul Francis Chiazza will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Those that spent time with him, knew he'd love to spin a yarn or tell a tale. Those tales would often be of falsehood that would generate may laughs, but the man that he was always revealed the truth in the end.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Joseph Calangelo and a brother-in-law, Patrick Clutter.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Jacqueline (Calangelo) Chiazza; two children, Lisa (Marcus) Mullin and Tony (Lydia) Chiazza; four grandchildren, Grady, Owen and Lillian Mullin and Carmella Chiazza; two sisters, Angeline Clutter and Maryanne Kuhl; his mother-in-law, Beverly Calangelo; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including his special cousin, Pete Chiazza and many close friends.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Davita Kidney Care for all of the support and care given to Paul over the years.

Family and friends will be received Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10 – 11:45 am at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street. Funeral services will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at 12 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Jeeson V. Stephan M.C.B.S. officiating, with military honors to follow.
