RAYMOND SMITH JR.

He was born February 19, 1959 in Wheeling, WV to the late Raymond E. Smith Sr. and Pauline (Bogard) Smith.

Ray graduated from Wheeling Park High School (class of 77) and Bethany College (class of 81) where he was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. After graduating, Ray began his career at The Linsly School, where he taught Algebra and coached football and basketball for 39 years. During his time at Linsly, he formed many lasting connections with colleagues and students that he truly treasured. He moved to Florida in 2020 and spent the last 5 years teaching at St. John Paul II Academy in Boca Raton.

Ray leaves behind a loving family including a daughter, Jordan (E.J.) Schramm; a son, Jarred Smith; a brother, Randy Smith; two grandchildren, Parker Schramm and Carter Schramm; and former spouse Pam Rine.

Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday May 10th, at the Haller Shelter (Oglebay Park) from 1-6pm.
