AGNES ARTIMEZ
Agnes Lorraine Artimez, affectionately known as Lorraine, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 92, at WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital. Born on September 17, 1932, in Greene County, Pennsylvania, Lorraine lived a life full of love, dedication, and faith.
Lorraine was a retired factory worker who dedicated 27 years to the Marx Toy Company in Glen Dale. She devoted herself to her work and took great joy in being a dedicated and loving homemaker for her family. Her warmth and care were felt by all who knew her.
Lorraine led an active and fulfilling life. She found immense joy in bowling, golfing, traveling, and spent countless enjoyable hours playing the card game Canasta, a passion she shared with her Canasta club for 30 years. A talented baker, Lorraine was especially renowned for her delectable pies, which graced many family gatherings and celebrations.
A devout member of the Ash Avenue Church of God, Lorraine’s faith was central to her life and served as a source of strength and community throughout her years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Emma (Yoder) Gregg; her beloved husband, Manuel W. Artimez; and her siblings, brothers Ivan and Archie Gregg, sister Beuna Wells, and sister-in-law and dear friend, Wilma Artimez.
Lorraine leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: her sons Bruce (Suzanne), Douglas (Gail), and Scott Artimez; sisters Beverly Davis and Judy Whorton; grandchildren Glenn (Stacey) Artiimez, Lori (Ryan) Rico, Derek (Shannon) Artimez, Matthew, Taylor, and Emily Artimez; as well as six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Family and friends are invited to honor Lorraine’s life during a visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville. Pastor Charles “C.J.” Plogger will preside as celebrant. A private interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
