BILLY KELLER

Billy Earl Keller, 82, of Warwood died on Thursday May 15, 2025 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born on July 11, 1942 in Wheeling, son of the late Norman and Nellie (Lukasick) Keller.

Bill graduated from Warwood High School in 1960, and joined the US Navy where he served for four years.

He was stationed on the USS Destroyer and one of their missions was to recover the Mercury – Redstone space capsule from the ocean. The space capsule contained astronaut Alan Shepard.

After four years in the Navy he attended and graduated from WLSC (now WLU). He began his teaching career at Buckeye Local School District. He taught Special Ed and was the Golf Coach.

He said many times “I’ve had a good life.” He was very active, and golfed as much as he could and followed the Steelers and WVU. He took many trips to Vegas with friends and Bill was a regular at the Wheeling Island Casino and Abbey’s.

He is survived by his brother, Douglas (Lynne) Keller; niece, Kristi (Jeremy) Walden; nephew, Jeffrey (Marci Myers) Keller and great nieces Reagan and Olivia Walden.

Per his request services and interment will be private.
