CLARENCE “BUD” JEWETT
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Clarence “Bud” Jewett, 84, of Valley Grove, WV, on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Born on May 29, 1940, in Ward, WV, Bud was a lifelong resident of Valley Grove and the Wheeling area.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife of almost 30 years Tracy Jewett, his parents Clarence Jewett, Jr., and Lethile “Josephine” Jewett, his brother James Jewett, and his sisters Sandra Paoletti and Barbara Haller.
Bud is survived by his girls Holly (Kendra) Jewett-Reynolds and Tiffany (Kevin) Beaver; grandkids Addison Thornton and Ethan Franklin Beaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud proudly served his country as a United States Navy Corpsman assigned to the 1st Marine Air Wing (Mag 11 Corpsman) from 1958-1962. After graduating from West Liberty University (formerly West Liberty State College), he went on to have a successful 30+ year nursing career at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Bud was a lifelong bowler and loved to travel.
Family and friends will be received at a Memorial Gathering for Bud on Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 am until time of Full Military Honors by Active Duty Navy and the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard at 12:00 pm, all at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. A luncheon will follow at the Elm Grove Civics.
