LOUISE CASTO
Louise Ann Casto, age 82, peacefully passed away on May 11, 2025.
She was born to Frank and Olga Brockardt on November 26, 1942.
She was married to James Alvin Casto for 39 years until his passing in 2021. Throughout their marriage, the couple primarily resided in Wellsburg, West Virginia, where they were devoted members of Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, now known as the Foundry Church. They also owned and operated Casto Carpet, a successful small business that was located in Triadelphia, WV.
Louise took on various leadership roles within the church and often shared her testimony of faith, recounting how she opened her heart to invite Jesus into her life. As stated in John 5:11-13, “If we have the Son, we have eternal life.” Louise embraced this promise and now rests in eternal life with God and Jesus in heaven, as affirmed in 2 Corinthians 5:8.
Together, Jim and Louise were passionate about memorizing scripture, which profoundly impacted their lives and their commitment to loving and serving others.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Brockardt, his wife Jamie, and their son Chad, along with twin sons Lincoln and Paxton. Additionally, she leaves behind her loving daughter, Mindy Casto, and her two children, Holli and Joshua, as well as her son, Frank Evans, his wife Toni, and their three sons, Gage, Seth, and Zachary, and her two stepchildren Jill Tustin and her husband Allen and Gary Casto, his wife Susan and daughter Nikki.
Louise had a deep love for God and served as a beacon for the Gospel of Christ through the Gideon Ministry, in which she and Jim were active members for many years.
The couple cherished traveling and appreciated the beauty of nature, particularly through their shared hobby of bird watching.
In her youth, Louise endured significant injuries from a car accident that led to persistent pain in her subsequent years. Nevertheless, Louise consistently expressed her perspective on suffering, often stating, “It could be worse, and God is still good.” This resilient spirit is a legacy that her family will carry forward. Louise will be deeply missed and cherished by many.
