Sharon Lynn (Bibey) Cameron, 87, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Country Club Retirement Campus in Bellaire, OH.

She was born November 16, 1937, daughter of the late Denzel Hugh & Neva Douglas Bibey.

Sharon graduated from Wheeling High School in 1955. She was a long time member of Warwood United Methodist Church where she served as Secretary for many years before becoming employed as a receptionist for Dr. Peter Schuetz, DDS. She was involved, with her husband Richard “Dick” Cameron and friends, in high school athletics activities for many years, including as an active member of Warwood High School and Wheeling Park High School Athletics Booster Associations – and for much of her adult life you could find her on Friday evenings at basketball games at the Warwood High School or Wheeling Park High School gyms or at football games at the Wheeling Island Stadium. She also loved going to WVU football games in the fall and Sarasota, FL every July with family and close friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Cameron; brothers, Denzel and Donald Bibey; sister-in-law, Helen “Jeri” Bibey; and brother-in-law, Melvin Stephens.

Sharon is survived by her children, Douglas (Deborah) Cameron of Pittsburgh, PA and Donna (Todd) Lyons of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) McDermott, Bradley (Erika) Cameron, Ali (Christian) Dill, Cameron (Samantha) Lyons, and Victoria Lyons; great-grand- children, Walter McDermott, Helena Rose McDermott, and Ava Barbara Cameron; sisters-in-law, Gwen Bibey, Darlene Stephens, Patsy (Lee) Glessner, and Delores (Roger) Pfefferman; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon will be remembered for her commitment as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was extremely proud of her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and did not hesitate to share her pride when talking to others.

The family would like to thank the amazing and caring staff at Country Club Rehabilitation Campus and Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

Friends will be received for a memorial visitation and service on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at Kepner Funeral Home/Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave. Wheeling (304-277- 2722).
