Grace Laura Bonar, age 89, of Glen Dale, WV formerly of Moundville, WV, died Friday June 13, 2025 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.
She was born June 5, 1936 in Moundsville, daughter of the late Matthew Dale and Olive Roberts Bonar.
She was an elementary teacher with the Marshall Co Board of Education; a member of Simpson UMC where she was in the bell choir; past president of; retired school employees; and AARP; and Eagles Auxiliary.
Grace was able to celebrate her 89 birthday with all of her children. She loved to dance; lived for her children and all of her grandchildren; loved "bling" and enjoyed life to its fullest. She impacted so many children in the valley. Her students still recognized her and would come up to her and give her a hug, giving her the utmost joy. Heaven is surely getting an angel that will keep the stars shining and the angels blinged out.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Bonar; and brother William Thomas Bonar and his wife Monica.
Survivors include her sons, Matthew Brent (Chris) Bonar of Kodak, TN, John Robert (Amy) Bonar of Moundsville; daughters, Rebecca Dale (Sonny) Vucelick of Moundsville, Laura (Mark) Bonar of Glen Dale; 11 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and 3 nieces.
Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory 400 Jefferson Ave Moundsville where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1pm with Pastor Kara Rowe officiating.
Interment at Riverview Cemetery Moundsville.
