Beryl Eileen Mason, a cherished matriarch and pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 100 at the Moundsville Healthcare Center in West Virginia. Born on January 26, 1925, in the close-knit community of Marshall County, WV, Beryl's life was a testament to dedication, faith, and service.
As a loving and devoted homemaker, Beryl's greatest joy was her family. She was the steadfast rock upon which her loved ones leaned, offering unwavering support and compassion. Her strength of will and kind heart were legendary, and she never hesitated to extend her hand to anyone in need.
Beryl found joy in simple yet profound pleasures, such as canning and dedicating her time to service work for her church and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that touched all who knew her.
Her commitment to community was evident through her lifelong dedication to several organizations. Beryl was a lifetime member of the Limestone Elementary School PTA, an active contributor to Fairview C.E.O.S., and a proud member of the Marshall County Farm Bureau. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devout member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. Beryl was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Austa (Henceroth) Crow; her beloved husband, Friend Mason; eleven siblings; her grandson, Michael Mason; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Mason.
She is survived by her children: Roland Mason, Karen Baker, Dale (Sandy) Mason, and Bill Simmons (Mel); her sister, Jeannie Bishop; seven grandchildren; numer- ous great and great- great-grandchildren; and her dearest friend, Nora Bledsoe.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Beryl's remarkable life during visitation on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 2 to 6 pm and Thursday, July 3, from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, located at 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville. Interment will follow at Limestone Cemetery.
