Edis Irene Cumpston Hamilton, 76, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Liza's Place.
She was born August 24, 1948 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Harold Edward and Vesta Irene (Blake) Cunningham. Edis was a member and trustee of the Rock Lick Church in Cameron, WV for many years. She retired after several years as a secretary from Try Again Homes in Washington, PA. Edis had two favorite hobbies in life, sitting down with a great book and her nightly phone calls from her sister Kathy.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Cumpston; her second husband, Charlie Hamilton; her infant brother, Randy Lee Cunningham and two siblings, Loretta Cheeks and Phillip Cunningham.
Edis is survived by her three daughters, Tammy Cumpston, Pam (Tim) Rushman and Crystal (Corey) Bohrer; a step-son, Greg (Carmen) Hamilton; four siblings, Patricia Phillips, Roger (Mary) Cunningham, Kathy (Jim Matthews) Tustin and Joyce Fryman; several grandchildren, including her granddaughter, Randi Shiben, who lived with her and became her caregiver at the end; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 5-8 pm, CARE Funeral and Cremation Services, 1500 Second St., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, at 1 pm with Pastor Rich Siburt officiating. Interment will be held at Rock Lick Cemetery.
