VIRGINIA SCHULTZ

Virginia Ann Schultz, 91, of Shadyside, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the Shadyside Care Center in Shadyside on July 23, 2025.
Born on October 25, 1933, a daughter of the late James and Rose Kapolka Zacek.
She devoted many years as a dedicated secretary at Scott Lumber, where her meticulous nature and warm demeanor made her both respected and cherished by colleagues and clients alike.
Virginia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A devoted gardener, she spent countless hours tending to her flowers and plants. Her love of reading transported her to far-off places and times. Above all, Virginia treasured the moments spent in the company of those she loved, creating lasting memories with her family and a close-knit circle of friends.
A faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shadyside, Virginia’s life was marked by her commitment to her faith and community, quietly supporting the church’s mission and its congregants with unwavering dedication. She was also a cherished member of the Red Hats and the Wheeling Women’s Club, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to her community.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Schultz, step brother William Kapolka and close cousin Stanley Wach.
Survivors include her sons, Douglas Schultz of Shadyside and Lance Schultz of Columbus as well as step-sister in law Kathy Kapolka, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside Ohio on Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm. Virginia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Powhatan Cemetery immediately following.
