EUNICE DAVIS
Eunice Mae Pellen Davis, 94, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Xenia, OH surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on September 11, 1930, in Studa, PA and is the daughter of the late Phillip F. and Hester Shepherd Pellen.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Davis; long-time companion, Kenneth McNinch; infant daughter, Debra Davis; great-granddaughter, MyKayla Rose; three sisters, Vina Boring, Veronica Corbin, and Margaret Parriott; and six brothers, Thomas, Phillip, William, Samual, Donald, and Ronald Pellen.
Eunice is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Tim) Toothman; son, Bryan (ex Wendy) Davis; five grandchildren, T.J. (Allyson) Toothman, Cindy (Bob) Akers, Lisa (Mike) Bogard, Jennifer (Geo) Montijo, and Matthew Davis; five great-grandchildren, Kylie Bogard, Isabella and Caetlynn Toothman, and Alexander and Alyssa Montijo; three sisters, Maxine Mercer, Peg (Jim) Williams, and Kay Smith; a brother, Jim (Robin) Pellen; many nieces and nephews; and bonus granddaughter Douangchanh Thongkoth.
She was a golden member of the Wheeling Eagles, AARP, Wheeling Moose Club, and a beloved competitor at the local Bunco Club. She participated in Relay for Life at Wheeling Park, alongside her family and friends, for many years after surviving colon cancer in 2003 and breast cancer in 2007.
She had a passion for crocheting afghans and towels, especially for those close to her heart, and found great joy in traveling. She enjoyed her frequent walks at Oglebay Park, and loved her family more than anything.
Eunice was a Methodist by faith and lived a life of service. She was a waitress at the Wilson Lodge, kitchen support at West Liberty State College for 6 years, and a sitter for people who needed extra care and attention.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) with the Rev. Dennis Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Short Creek Cemetery.
