Guy L. Buzzard, born on November 8, 1934, in Cameron, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Guy dedicated 42 years of his life to his career as an Electronic Technician with Columbia Gas Transmissions before retiring.
Beyond his professional life, Guy was known for his deep love for his family and his community. He took great pride in being a wonderful father and grandfather, always cherishing the time spent with his beloved grandchildren. His interests in gardening and caring for his home and land were a testament to his nurturing spirit and connection to nature.
Guy was a member of the American Legion Post 18 in Cameron, WV,. His commitment to his community extended beyond his membership, as he was exceptionally handy and always willing to lend a helping hand to all.
In addition to his practical skills, Guy was a very good cook and a quiet yet very wise man. His warmth and generosity were evident in all aspects of his life, making him a beloved figure in Cameron and Fish Creek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Geraldine Buzzard; his parents, Thomas and Bessie (Blake) Buzzard; and his brothers, Charles (Georgie) Buzzard, Jack (Alice) Buzzard, Donald (Lenora) Buzzard, and Paul (Joann) Buzzard.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Sherry (James) Reid, Bonnie (Joe) Nawrocki, and Diane (Guy) Peters. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Amy (Garrett) O'Neil, Chelsie (Joe) Darmafall, Rena (Casey) Shrout, Guy David Peters, Matthew Nawrocki, Steven Nawrocki, Sarah Nawrocki, Jacob Nawrocki, Hannah (Jonathan) Zwier, John Nawrocki, and Rachel Nawrocki, Gabe Nawrocki; his great- grandchildren, Olivia O'Neil, Eli O'Neil, and Reid Darmafall; his sister-in-law, Eileen Dobbs as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The graveside service at Big Run Christian Church Cemetery will be held privately for Guy's immediate family.
Guy L. Buzzard's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and community. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
