JOANNE OLEJASZ

Joanne M. Schreyer Olejasz, 93, resident of Wheeling, West Virginia, died Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Liza's Place.

She was born on July 21, 1932 in Geistown, Pa., daughter of the late William B. and Augusta A. Kloss Schreyer.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Olejasz; brothers, Frank, James, and John Schreyer; sister, Pauline Dusch.

Surviving are her six children, Mary Jo Graebe (Gary), Becky Gentle, Bill Olejasz (Ofelia), John Olejasz (Michelle), Lt. Col. Stephen Olejasz (Lt. Col. Sandy), Judge Michael Olejasz (Roberta); grandchildren, Beau Dittmar, Megan Lucey (Jed), Brittany Dent (Jordan), Brooke Jenkins (Nick), Samantha Gentle (Jessica), Reagan Olejasz, Max Olejasz, Ofelia Guner (Burak), Chaz Stalnaker; great-grandchildren, Ben, Athena, Cali, Kaylee, Charlie, Korey, Skylar, Zoey, Leighton, Kenan and Kaya; brother, William J. Schreyer; sisters, Augusta Smith, Clara White and Mary Bonenberger (Keith); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to personally thank Joanne's caregivers Rosie and Karyl and also the staff at Liza's Place and Valley Hospice.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave, Wheeling WV, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Father Joseph Wiley as celebrant.

Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
