Joseph Michael Savarino Sr., 98, of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Wheeling Hospital – WVU.
He was born on June 25, 1927, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Dominic and Vinceza (Diecidue) Savarino. Joseph was a World War II, U.S. Navy Reserve Veteran and a devout Catholic. He retired from Blaw-Knox after over 30 years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Lois M. (Lilley) Savarino; two brothers and four sisters.
Joseph is survived by his children, Kathy Savarino and Michael Savarino; 4 granddaughters, Christina, Holly, Marthe and Dalena; six great- grandchildren, Jacson, Tyler, Hailey, Katie, Sienna and Declan and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Monday, August 18, 2025 at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel 154 Kruger St., from 10 am until time of service at 11:30 am. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bishop's Chapel.
