MARY HIGBY

Mary Lee (Rine) Higby, 92, formerly of Cameron, WV passed peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025 in Moundsville, WV.

Mary was born May 25, 1933, on Wayman’s Ridge in Marshall County to the late Durward and Edna (Holmes) Rine.

In 2018 she made her home with her daughter, Minerva (Rine) Evans and son-in-law, Lane Evans who are left to cherish her memory.

Also surviving are her grandsons, Matt and Amy Himmelrick, Michael and Heather Himmelrick and sons; special nephew, Doug and Connie and their son, Nick and his family; sister-in-law, Sherrie Rine; step grandsons, Jeff and Barb Evans, Shawn and Lori Evans and their families who she embraced and several nieces, nephew and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Higby, Jr.; sisters, Beulah Stevens, Betty Turner, Marlene Bonar, Peggy Rine and brother, Emory Rine.

Mary Lee loved playing music with her family and keeping the family history alive. She was a member of the Christian Church and a huge WVU fan.

A special thank you to the RNs, Halley, Cindy and Barb and the aides on 100 hall who gave her kind and loving care at MHCC.

Friends received 4-7 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Jarvis Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025 with Rick Farley officiating. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
