Lena M. (Tarquinio) Serevicz, 97, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025 at her residence under the care of Valley Hospice.
Lena was born on October 23, 1927 in Wellsburg. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Virginia (DeFabbio) Tarquinio.
Lena was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The kitchen was truly the heart of Lena's home. No matter the time of day, you could stop by for a hot cup of coffee, a sweet treat, or simply a good conversation. She often referred to her home as "Grand Central Station"--and she loved every minute of it. Her table was a place where laughter echoed, wisdom was shared, and lasting memories were made.
Above all, Lena was defined by her role as a mother to her eight children. Her love, strength, and unwavering support shaped not only her family but all who had the blessing of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her dearest husband, Benny Serevicz Jr., whom celebrated 69 years of marriage, a grandson, Joseph B. Grampa, and a brother, Dominic Tarquinio.
Lena is survived by eight children, Virginia Roney, husband, Frank of McMurray, PA, Marianne Grampa, husband, Bruno of Moundsville, WV, Christine Day, husband, Duane of Washington, PA, Benjamin Serevicz of McKinleyville, WV, Michael Serevicz, wife, Della of Wellsburg, WV, Annette Best, husband, Jim of McKinleyville, WV, Matthew Serevicz, wife, Amy of Wellsburg, WV and Phillip Serevicz, wife, Robynn of New Haven, WV, 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren with another due in November, a sister, Hilda Tarquinio and numerous nephews and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV, with Father Justin Golna, presiding. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
