RHONDA SCENNA
Rhonda L. Scenna, of Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away surrounded by her family on September 4, 2025, at WVU Medicine, Wheeling Hospital. Born on September 28, 1963, in Wheeling, Rhonda graced this world with her presence for nearly 62 years.
Beyond her career as a medical coder, Rhonda held a deep passion for Steelers football, often cheering them on with fervor and bantering with her Cowboy-loving sisters. Her greatest joy, however, was found in the music played by her husband of over 30 years, Joe Del Guzzo. Together, they shared countless moments filled with love and harmony.
Rhonda cherished her family deeply, especially her siblings, nieces, and nephews, each of whom she held close to her beautifully kind and gentle heart. She was fiercely loyal and loving, traits that endeared her to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Frank and Sally Scenna. Rhonda leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with her surviving family: her husband, Joe Del Guzzo; her mother and step-father, Rick and Katherine Simpson; her siblings, Randy (Janet) Scenna, Renae (Brian) Hannon, Rochelle (Michael) St. Myers, Christina (Jason) Scenna, Erica (David) Benda, and Sheree (Bill) Petroplus; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Rhonda on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 12:00 PM until a time of sharing at 3:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
