DONNA LEE RAIMONDE

Donna Lee (Morgan) Raimonde, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on June 13, 1932, to Fred Robert and Helen Marie Morgan and grew up in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

A proud graduate of the Ruth Brant School of Nursing at Martins Ferry Hospital, Class of 1954, Donna devoted nearly 50 years to a remarkable career in nursing. She began her work at Martins Ferry Hospital, where she quickly earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patients alike. Rising to the position of Assistant Director of Nursing, Donna later established and led the hospital’s Quality and Risk Management Department and served as Director of Medical Services.

Throughout her career, Donna developed lifelong friendships with an incredible group of colleagues who shared her passion for caring for others. She spent her life looking after people–whether hospital patients, family, or friends–always offering compassion and steady support to those in need. Her dedication to her patients, coworkers, family, and friends left a legacy of kindness and professionalism that will not be forgotten.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her two infant siblings Robert and Barbara Ellen, and her devoted husband of 35 years, Dr. Romeo A. Raimonde. She is survived by her loving children: David Scott Gibbons of Martins Ferry; Leigh Prop of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Sue (Phil) Trouten of St. Clairsville, Ohio. She was a proud grandmother to Ryan (Rachel) Marling of Pittsburgh, PA, Lauren (Richie) Gryspeerdt of Batesville, Indiana, Jamie Prop (Driss Guessous) of Los Angeles, California, Elizabeth Gibbons, and Whitney Gibbons of Rayland, Ohio. Her joy was multiplied by her great-grandchildren Finn and Callan Gryspeerdt and Leo Marling.

Family was everything to Donna. She loved traveling–both throughout the United States and abroad and took special delight in celebrating holidays surrounded by loved ones. Christmas and Thanksgiving were her favorites, when she would spend hours decorating her home and preparing the perfect feasts that brought everyone together.

Family and friends will be received at Keller Funeral Home 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 10 to 11:30. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Martins Ferry at 12 noon following visitation.
