EMMA LOU CARLE

She was born on January 18, 1926, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Robert J. Carle Sr. and Mary Haney Carle Lewis.

Emma Lou was a graduate of Wheeling High School, a retired head cashier for the Kroger Company, and Protestant by faith.

She was full of life, and loved garage sales,and traveling. She cared about people and was very giving.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Helen Virginia Carle OHara; brother, Robert E. Carle, Jr.; and a nephew, Robert E. Carle, III.

Emma Lou is survived by her three nieces, Sandy Carle of Hot Springs, AK, Cindy Calhoun of Hot Springs, AK, and Sue (Bill) Huggins of Wheeling, WV; several great-nieces/nephews, including Andrew (Jamie) Huggins; and many great-great-nieces/nephews.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) with Chaplain Jon Hudnall officiating. Interment will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 300 Wharton Circle, Suite 260, Triadelphia, WV 26059.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Continuous Care Center Wheeling Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care that Emma Lou received.
