MARY COLLINS

1938 – 2025

Mary Collins (Reeves), 87, passed away peacefully after a life devoted to faith, family, and service. A cherished member of Wayman, Quinn, and St. John A.M.E. churches, she served joyfully in the Women’s Missionary Society, choir, and Sunday School.

Mary’s passion for justice and education led her to active roles in the NAACP, PTA, Jefferson County Democratic Party, and the National Council of Negro Women. Her warmth and leadership touched many lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, William Collins. She is survived by daughters Robin (Vince) and Patricia, and grandsons Collin (Emma) and Zachary. She is also survived by her sister Charlotte Rispress and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary’s legacy of grace and generosity lives on in all who knew her.
