Donald Eugene Gilbert, Sr., 84, of Beech Bottom, WV, died Monday, November 17, 2025.
He was born March 17, 1941, son of the late William Gilbert and Emma Katherine Finney Gilbert.
Don was a retired coal miner, loved fishing and his dog, Max.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Blattner Gilbert; and granddaughter, Sammy Gilbert.
He is survived by his sons, Donald (Crystal) Gilbert, Jr., Joseph Gilbert, David (Paula) Gilbert, Sr. and Dennis (Rhonda) Gilbert; daughter, Diane Gray; grandchildren, Johnny, Joe, William, Dave, Jr., Ashley, Mike, Kathryn, Steven, Cody, Shelby, Alexis, Torren and Emily; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Long, Margaret Gilbert and Mildred Sapp; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM with Pastor Joe Hill officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling (304-277-2722).
Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery Wheeling.
