JANALENE “JAN” GRIMM

She was born January 27, 1944 in Glen Dale, WV.

Jan was a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest role was being a grandmother and she proudly earned the title of “Everyone’s Nan.” She was a Christian by faith and active member of New Heart Covenant Christian Center of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

Jan was the owner of Jan’s Beauty Salon in Moundsville until her retirement in 2022. She thoroughly enjoyed doing hair, shopping, decorating, crafting and planting. Her greatest passion was serving others which often included cooking a big meal and her famous pepperoni rolls.

Jan was preceded in death by her late husband, Harry Edwin Grimm; her daughter, Kelly Jo Grimm; her parents, Vernon and Dessie Knox; her brother, Vernon “Buddy” Knox; her first husband, Jack Evans and his daughter, Kathy Evans.

Jan left behind two daughters; Jackie (Jeff) Blake of Moundsville and Cathryn (Todd) Longwell of Benwood; step-son, John Evans; six grandchildren, Cole Grimm of Moundsville, Alyssa (Kord) Blackmon of Pall Mall, TN, Austin (Shelby) Blake of Morgantown, Carl (Maya) Cochran of West Liberty, Cayden Cochran and Carleigh Jo Cochran both of Benwood, and two bonus grandchildren, Evan and Levi Longwell; her sister, Mary Herrick.

Services for Jan will be at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue Moundsville, WV on November 28th from 10am until funeral service at 1pm with Pastor Barry & Susan Cline officiating.
