SARAH “SALLY” POE
Sarah “Sally” Joanne Poe passed away peacefully on Thursday November 13, 2025, at the age of 76, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 12, 1949, Sally was the daughter of Fredrick Belt and Joanne McGhee. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy, and her great-grandson, Rocco Belvedere.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Bruce, and by her loving sons Todd (Lori) Poe, Brian (Julie) Poe, and Andy (Kelli) Poe. She was a proud grandmother to Austin Poe, Amanda (Dominic) Belvedere, Allison Poe, and Emma Poe, and a cherished great-grand mother to Josephine, Colette, and Dino Belvedere — who lovingly knew her as “MeMe”; and two brothers, Donald (Amy) Belt and Jeff (Amy) Belt.
A lifelong resident of St. Clairsville, Sally was involved in her community. Over the years, she was an active member of the Garden Club, The Lily Twig Club, Child Study Club, Red Devils Moms, and Tennis Club. A talented and competitive tennis player, Sally won several singles and doubles tournaments in her younger years before becoming her sons’ and grandchildren’s biggest fan, cheering them on from the sidelines of countless sporting events. A devoted sports fan, she especially loved her Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sally was a proud third-generation owner of McGhee Office Supply, a family business established in 1923. Together with her husband, Bruce, and her son, Andy, she carried on the legacy with dedication and kindness that touched everyone she met.
Above all, Sally’s greatest joy was her family. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother — “MeMe” — was the role she cherished most. Her love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She also treasured her lifelong friends, whose encouragement, care, and support during her battle with cancer were a source of comfort and strength.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 18th from 2pm to 8pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 10:30am. A private burial will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice – Liza’s Place, whose compassionate care and support were a great comfort to Sally and her family.
