DENICE “DC” HOFFMAN
Denice “DC” Ann (Vereb) Hoffman, 71, of Wheeling, WV, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at home.
She was born in Wheeling on January 30, 1954, to the late James and Dorothy (Theiss) Vereb.
DC loved walking and dancing. She was an advocate for Riley’s Army for children’s cancer. DC loved her pets. Those who knew her will remember her remarkable kindness. She never met a stranger, every person she encountered was treated like a friend. Her warmth, compassion, and effortless ability to connect with others created lasting impressions and a legacy of love.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, James Vereb and Frank Mora; her brother-in-law, Thomas “Tom” Conway; her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Patricia Hoffman; and her beloved shelties, Zinger and Bartley.
DC is survived by her husband of 21 years, Douglas Hoffman; her beloved dog, Sadie; her sisters, Cindy (Jim) Koehler, Debbie Conway, Karen (Tyler) Hayes, Sharon (Jim) Whitfield; her brother, Dennis Vereb; her brother-in-laws, David (Cathy) Hoffman and Daniel (Robin) Hoffman; her sisters-in-law, Darla Kosar and Denise Artimez; and several nieces and nephews.
A message from DC’s sister, Karen; Our sister Denice, though you’re gone, your love remains a gentle light in our hearts. Your spirit lives on in cherished memories. You will be forever missed.
