GEORGE HOLDEN

He was born October 1, 1936; the son of the late Freda Holden Campbell.

George was a Supply Manager for Ogden Newspapers and worked part time for The Journal; a proud Korean War Army Veteran; member of Simpson United Methodist Church; volunteer at Shepherds Pantry for several years; member of the VFW Post #437; member of the American Legion Earl Francis Post #3; and enjoyed watching NASCAR and football.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, George Martin Campbell; half-brother, Kenneth Campbell; and son-in-law, William Yeater.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Patricia “Patty” Holden; four children, Cynthia Yeater of Washington, PA, Stephen (Martha) Holden of Chesterfield, SC, Cheryl (James) Barlip of Moundsville and Joseph (Linda) Holden of Gahanna, Ohio; two half-sisters, Kathleen (Darell) Snodgrass of Bridgeport, OH and Shirley McMillan of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 31st from 11am until time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave. Moundsville, WV, with Rev. Kara Rowe officiating. Interment to follow at Park View Memorial Gardens.
