WILLIAM BORING JR.

William Edward Boring Jr. is now in the joyous and ever-loving embrace of his Father God, after passing away suddenly in his home at the age of 70 on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Born on April 7, 1955, to William E. Boring Sr. and Genevieve C. Boring in Wheeling, W.Va., he lived a full life – deeply loving his family, caring for his community, and serving the Lord and the church with all of his heart. He now joins his deeply missed parents and recently deceased sister-in-law, Carol S. Reinacher, in Heaven.

He married his loving wife, Maureen Boring, on May 14, 1977. Together, they faithfully loved and cared for each other and their family for 48 years of marriage.

He is survived by family who meant everything to him including his wonderful wife, Maureen Boring; his children, Jonathan (Chelsey) and Jeremy; his grandchildren whom he was incredibly proud of, William Boring and Maxwell VanPelt; his siblings, Kelley (Joyce) Boring, Beverley (Chris) Blamey, and Rickey (Nancy) Boring; and in-laws, Charles J Reinacher and Susanne R. (Charles) Steele.

William served Wheeling Hospital for 40 years as a Respiratory Therapist. He became the Administrative Director of Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Lab and Sleep Medicine where he touched countless patients’ lives over the years. He was appointed by the Governor of West Virginia to serve as Vice Chair of the West Virginia State Board of Respiratory Care, and his profound work during his tenure claimed recognition and advancement for the profession.

Upon retirement, he moved to Roanoke, Va. to be closer to his family, who are exceptionally proud of his accomplishments, grateful for many loving memories and will cherish the legacy he leaves behind.

Open visitation will occur at Oakey’s East Chapel, 5188 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, VA 24019 on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. A second visitation will occur on Saturday, January 3, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Oakey’s East Chapel with the memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Abbey Chapel in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va. where entombment will follow.
