LLOYD “PEANUT” VAN HORN

Lloyd “Peanut” Thomas Van Horn, 83, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at his residence.

Peanut was born on July 3, 1942 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late William Thomas Van Horn and Roseanna Cleo (Schwertfeger) Van Horn Wilson.

Peanut was a Navy Veteran, Retiree of Weirton Steel, teacher of welding engineering at WVNCC, National CWI, former fire chief of McKinleyville VFD, Past Master of Masonic Lodge and a huge family man.

In addition to his parents, Peanut was preceded in death by his step-father, Raymond Wilson and two grandchildren, Curtis Van Horn and Julia Rice.

Peanut is survived by his wife, Judy Van Horn, two children, Amy Van Horn, husband, Keith Francis and Mark Van Horn and wife, Joann, two grandchildren, Zack Van Horn and Eden Ziegler and her husband, Hunter, two sisters, Mary Nichols and companion Keith and Martha Mathews and husband, John and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11 AM at the West Liberty Christian Church with Pastor Dennis Arnold, officiating.

Interment will follow at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV with a FireFighter Salute, Masonic Rite and Military Honors.
