SHARON LASSAR
Sharon S. Lassar, PhD, CPA, of Denver and Miami, passed away January 23, 2026, following a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma.
Born in Wheeling, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lucille Eilerman Rapp. Sharon was a distinguished Professor at the University of Denver and a national leader in the accounting profession. Above all, she was a devoted mother who brought immense care and discipline to raising her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Walfried; children Sarah, Walfried Jr., and Stephanie; three grandchildren; and siblings Ed, JoAnn, Joe, Richard, Kathy, and David Rapp.
