CAROL MANNING
Carol Lynn Manning, born on September 10, 1944, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at the age of 81, at the Continuous Care Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Carol was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and those around her. A Christian by faith, she embodied the spirit of a true caregiver, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where everyone was welcomed with open arms.
She was particularly known for her legendary peanut butter fudge, which was a staple for family gatherings. Carol’s love for her grandchildren was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Nelly Mae (Shafferman) Sloan, and her son, Charles Gamble. She is survived by her loving children: Rodger (Shelia) Gamble, Mark Gamble, Lynn (Marc) Emerson, and Judi (Brian) Gordon. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Carri (Michael), Cortnie (Chris), Jenna (Richard), and Kenny (Kindra); and her great-grandchildren: Landon, Wyatt, Micah, Mickell, Jayden, Emily, Austin, Alex, Zach, Jill, Aidan, Kalan, Liam, and Rylynn.
In addition to her family, Carol leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Maddie Joel.
