SALLY ANN RITZ
Sally Ann Ritz, a beacon of compassion and grace, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of her family at Liza’s Place in Wheeling.
Born on July 16, 1958, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Sally was an extraordinary woman whose presence touched many lives.
Sally dedicated her professional life to nursing, where she exemplified care and dedication. Her illustrious career spanned across Reynolds Memorial Hospital and WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital. She excelled in various roles, including the Surgical Floor, ICU, Kidney Dialysis Center, Plastic Surgery Operating Room, Director of Perioperative Services, and Physicians Liaison. Her colleagues and patients alike revered her for her unfaltering commitment and empathetic nature.
Overflowing with life, Sally embraced a vibrant and social lifestyle. Known as the consummate party planner, her gatherings were legendary, each detail perfectly orchestrated. Sally’s passion for entertaining brought joy to her family and friends. An avid gardener, cook, reader, and traveler, she infused her days with creativity and adventure. Ever the fashionista, she took great pride in her appearance and inspired those around her.
Sally was guided by her Presbyterian faith, which was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life. Her kind spirit and nurturing heart left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Ellen (Raies) Wakulchik. Sally leaves behind her devoted husband of 43 years, Mark Ritz; her cherished son, Matthew (Amanda) Ritz; brothers, John and Phil Wakulchik; and her adored granddaughter, Cancedella Colleen “Della” Ritz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love.
Friends and family are invited to gather at 11:00 AM on February 28, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church in Moundsville with a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 PM, A private interment at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens will occur at the convenience of the family.
