LAWRENCE “LARRY” DUNLAP JR.

Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Dunlap Jr., a lifelong resident of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully in his hometown on March 28, 2026. Born on June 24, 1939, Larry dedicated his life to serving others with kindness and compassion.

Larry spent an impressive 50 years working as a Nurse’s Aide at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, where he touched countless lives with his gentle care and unwavering dedication. In addition to his long career in healthcare, Larry proudly served in the Air Force Reserves for eight years, demonstrating his commitment to his country.

A member of the Elm Grove Eagles, Larry was known for his warm spirit and friendly nature. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence J. Dunlap Sr.; mother, Grace M. Dunlap; brothers, Bob Dunlap, Chuck Dunlap, and Thomas Dunlap; and sisters, Regina Sinon and Roseann Blake.

Larry is survived by his beloved sister, Nancy Dunlap, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He also leaves behind dear friends Tiffany, Trish, and Tom Hoffman, who will miss him greatly.

Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, WV on April 2, 2026, at 1 p.m., officiated by Father Don Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital, causes that were close to Larry’s heart.

Larry will be remembered for his selfless service, gentle demeanor, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
