PAUL CHAMBERS

Paul F. Chambers, 85, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital, after a lengthy and courageous battle with multiple illnesses. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Cameron, WV.

Paul was born October 4, 1940, in Cameron, a son of the late Francis Edwin Chambers and Anna Hazel Gilbert Chambers. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were brothers Ernest, James, Bobbie and Richard; sisters Goldie, Eleanor, Caroline, Thelma and Patricia, and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand- father, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years M. Kay Yost Chambers, and daughters Kathy Ann (Darren) Richardson of Grove City, OH, and Becky Lynn (Larry) Ludwig of Pittsburgh, PA, grandchildren Darren J. Behrens, Janae M. Richardson, Kayla Behrens McKnight, and Christian D. Richardson; great grandchildren Lena, Gabrielle, Antonia, London, and Bruce, and especially his current furry friend and buddy, Lucky.

His dedicated work ethic was beyond compare. He started his working career mowing lawns at the age of ten and as he grew older, worked at the Cameron Pottery. He became a member of Laborers’ Local 1149 and worked in construction for many years. He retired from Marshall County Schools as a custodian in 2001.

He loved to play horseshoes, checkers and shooting pool. He also enjoyed playing Petanque with his Florida buddies each winter. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Family and friends are invited to honor Paul’s life at a Celebration of Life service at 11 o’clock on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Moundsville First Christian Church, 1200 Third Street, with Pastor Wes Howsare officiating.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the third and fifth floors of Wheeling Hospital, Doctor Natalia Zavodchikov, Doctor Demetrio Agcaoili, Doctor James Comerci, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care of Paul.
